A playful tiger cub crouches low at the water's edge, front paws stretched out ahead and tongue sticking out to lap up a drink. Soft ripples spread in circles where the tongue meets the surface, and a few wavy lines drift across the foreground. The cub has big round eyes, small rounded ears, whiskers and a striped forehead. Bold stripes cover its curved back, and the long tail curls up behind with thick rings. Tall grass and two cattail plants frame both sides, with a few rounded rocks and small grass tufts along the bank. Big stripes and wide open spaces are good for younger kids with chunky crayons, and the ripples and fur lines keep older kids busy. Print this free page whenever you want a quick coloring break. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the tiger's whole body, head, and tail with tiger orange, leaving the stripes and the white muzzle area unfilled.
- 2Fill the big front paws and the cheeks with cream, then add coral pink to the inside of both ears and the tongue.
- 3Color the nose and the tiny bits of fur around the mouth with apricot and soft beige for a soft, sunny look.
- 4Paint the cattails and their tall stems dark brown, and the grass on both sides with grass green and pale green.
- 5Color the rocks and the pond bank with slate gray and warm tan, and fill the tail tip with black.
- 6Fill the pond ripples and the water drop under the tongue with sky blue, keeping the eye whites and the background white. Optional: add a little darker shade under the tiger's belly for depth.
