Coloring guide
Five tulips line up side by side, and each bloom is different. One is polka-dotted, one has a ruffled top, one has a heart shape on its petal, and two have classic pointed petals. Long, pointed leaves rise from the base of every stem. Four smiling ladybugs with curly antennae and spotted shells sit along the bottom, with small leafy sprigs between them, and wavy double lines run across the top and bottom as a border. The patterns and fine details suit older kids who like to take their time, and it makes a nice free printable for a spring classroom or a quiet afternoon. Red and orange work well for the ladybugs. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the wavy ribbons at the top and bottom of the page by coloring them sky blue, leaving the thin black lines as they are.
- 2Color all the long tulip leaves and stems leaf green, including the small leaves on the sides.
- 3Fill the tulip cups: tomato red on the left tulip, soft pink on the polka-dot tulip, violet purple on the middle tulip, golden yellow on the tall yellow tulip, and tangerine orange on the right tulip.
- 4Color the tops of the tulips golden yellow and add a soft pink heart on the orange tulip.
- 5Color the ladybugs tomato red and give their heads a peach tone, leaving the spots and small highlights white.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on one side of each tulip and leaf with a slightly darker shade to make them look more dimensional.
