Two Horses, Mare and Foal, Beside a Wooden Fence

Coloring guide
A big mother horse faces forward while her small foal snuggles up against her front leg. Both have smiling faces, round eyes and long lashes. Mom has a flowing forelock and a mane and tail that reach the ground, and the foal has a tiny tuft of mane and a short swishy tail. Behind them is a plain wooden fence with chunky posts and rails, and grass tufts are scattered by their hooves. Large open shapes keep this free printable easy for little hands, and the long mane and tail give older kids more to work on. Chestnut brown for the mare and light golden tan for the foal work well, with green grass and a weathered gray or brown fence. Add this to your Horses coloring page collection, alongside Seahorse and Dragonfly.

- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of chestnut brown on the mare's body and light honey gold on the foal for soft shading.
