Snowy Hillside Wolves, One Howling and One Sniffing

Snowy Hillside Wolves, One Howling and One Sniffing coloring sheet

Coloring guide

Two wolves share a snowy hillside in this outline drawing. One sits upright in the back with its head tipped up and its mouth open in a howl. The other stands lower in the front with its head down and its nose pressed to the snow, as if sniffing the ground. A huge round moon rises behind them, and snow-covered evergreens stand on both sides, with a few smaller trees on the far ridge. A bare, spindly bush grows in the lower right corner. The wolves have lots of short, furry lines to fill in. Try coloring the wolves in layers of gray, brown, and cream pencil strokes to show their thick winter coats. Then leave the moon pale and shade the sky darker around it for a night effect. This free printable also works well for talking about how wolves howl and track scents.
