This young unicorn faces forward with its head tilted, a sweet smile, big sparkly eyes and long wavy hair that flows past the shoulders. A spiral-striped horn rises from the forehead, and a heart with two little sparkles sits on its hip. A big rainbow arches over soft clouds and bushes behind it, with a patterned butterfly fluttering on each side. Large daisy-style flowers, leafy plants, small blossoms and grass tufts fill the foreground. Wide open shapes in the body and flowers suit little hands, and the flowing mane and tail give older kids room for detail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow arcs at the top, coloring the outer band bright orange and the inner bands in sunny yellow, mint green, sky blue and lavender, leaving the sky background white.
- 2Fill the bushes, lawn and leafy plants with grass green, adding leaf green and lime green on the darker leaves and bottom grass.
- 3Color the flower petals in soft pink and lavender, and give the flower centers a sunny yellow touch.
- 4Add the unicorn's mane, forelock and tail with soft pink, butter yellow, sky blue and light lilac, letting the colors flow along the strands.
- 5Color the butterflies with light blue, violet purple and tangerine, and finish the horn with peach and pale yellow. Keep the unicorn's body, face, inner ears and hind legs white.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a slightly darker shade of the same color along the edges of the mane and tail for extra depth.
