Waving American Flag and Poppy Flower in Grass

A flag on a tall pole waves above a single poppy flower growing in a patch of grass. The flag has a block of small outlined stars in the top left corner and wavy stripes running across the rest of it. Below it, the poppy has four ruffled petals with thin lines radiating out from a round center. The center has a dark dot ringed by little bumps. The flower sits on a long straight stem with one large leaf beside it, and tufts of grass fill the bottom edge. The big open shapes make this an easy page for younger kids, while the small stars give older kids a detail challenge. For Memorial Day, you could color the poppy red and talk about why people wear and display poppies to remember fallen soldiers. This printable page also works well for a classroom display.
