Whale and Calf Swimming Past a Hawaiian Palm Island

Coloring guide

A big humpback-style whale and her smaller calf glide side by side through the water. The larger whale has a friendly smile, a round eye, long pleated belly lines and bumpy dots along her head and flippers. Her tail rises up on the left, and a fountain of spray shoots from her blowhole above the waves. The calf swims just beneath her with its own flippers stretched out. Three small fish, rising bubbles and wavy water lines fill the rest of the page, and in the upper right a small island with two palm trees sits on the horizon. Younger kids can handle the large shapes, and older kids get the belly stripes and flipper bumps to work on. Soft blues and grays for the whales and a lighter bright blue for the spray would look nice. Download the free PDF for a class project or weekend craft.
