Wind Turbine on a Hill for Earth Day

Coloring guide
On top of a gentle grassy hill stands a tall wind turbine with three rounded blades, and a happy sun with a big open smile beams from the upper corner. Three puffy clouds drift across the sky and two rounded bushes sit behind the hill. Up front, two flowers with round centers and large petals grow next to some leaves, and small tufts of grass are scattered around. Lines are bold and clean and the shapes are big, so little hands can manage them easily. It's a nice choice for a clean energy lesson or a nature afternoon. Try a bright yellow sun, light blue sky, fresh greens on the hill and a different color for each flower. Free to print, and great for preschool and early elementary. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the three turbine blades, the big hill bushes, and both clouds with sky blue, leaving no gaps.
- 2Color the turbine tower and the hub in light gray, using short back-and-forth strokes for a soft look.
- 3Fill the sun's face and rays with golden yellow, then color the sun's smile in coral pink.
- 4Paint both flowers: petals in coral pink, centers in golden yellow, and the leaves in leaf green.
- 5Color the stems and the small grass tufts in lime green, and finish the hill and background by leaving them white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker sky blue along the bottom edges of the clouds and blades for a bit of depth.
