Heart-Covered Pom-Pom Hat and Mittens for Winter
Coloring guide
A cozy knit hat with a big fluffy pom-pom sits above a matching pair of mittens, and hearts decorate every piece. The hat has a band with three hearts between two stripes and a ribbed folded brim at the bottom. In front of it, the two mittens rest side by side, each with a heart in the center, a striped band and a ribbed cuff. With no background, the page stays clean and simple for little hands. Large shapes and easy lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the ribbed cuffs add detail for older children. Bright red or pink hearts, a white or light blue pom-pom and one contrasting color for the stripes will make it look like a real matching set. A sweet free printable for a chilly afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the pom-pom and the main body of the hat bright red, keeping the hearts white.
- 2Fill the palms and tops of both mittens with bright red, leaving their heart shapes white.
- 3Color the top band of the hat and the bands on both mittens with sky blue.
- 4Add golden yellow stripes across the hat and the mittens, between the blue and red areas.
- 5Use leaf green for the ribbed cuffs on the hat and both mittens, drawing each vertical line as its own section.
- 6Optional: add a few darker red strokes on the pom-pom for a bit of depth, and leave the background white.
