Artist Cat in a Beret Painting Flowers at the Easel

Coloring guide
This smiling kitten wears a floppy beret and a pocketed apron, and it's standing on its hind legs with a paintbrush raised to a canvas on a wooden easel. On the canvas you'll see a big sun with rays over three blooming flowers with leaves and stems. Down on the floor are three open paint pots with drips down their sides, a small flat lid or palette, and two more brushes lying on the ground. Look for the curled tail, long whiskers, big sparkly eyes and the bow tied at the back of the apron. Wide outlines keep it easy for younger kids, while the small flower petals give older ones something to chew on. A yellow sun, pink and purple flowers and a red beret make a cheerful mix. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the cat's fur with orange, covering the head, ears, tail, arms, legs and paws, and leave the light cheek patches and whisker area white.
- 2Fill the beret with tomato red and the apron, its pocket and the bow with sky blue.
- 3Paint the easel legs and crossbar in tan brown and the brush handles in dark brown, then color the paint pots: lemon yellow, sky blue, tomato red and bright green for the palette.
- 4Color the sun in lemon yellow and the big flower with orchid purple and raspberry pink, then add the smaller flowers in sky blue and tomato red. Keep the canvas, grass and leaves white.
- 5Add a soft pink nose and a deep red mouth, and keep the eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a darker orange shadow along the cat's fur edges for a bit of depth.
