A big striped umbrella stands in the sand and shades a cozy little spot. Underneath, a striped towel lies flat, with a round beach ball resting against one corner and a pair of flip-flops tucked near the other end. Small sand mounds and scattered dots around the edges set the shoreline scene without extra clutter. Wide umbrella panels and long towel stripes are easy to fill in, so younger children building pencil control will do well, while older kids can add patterns to each section. Alternating red and yellow on the umbrella with cool blues and greens on the towel will make everything stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the umbrella panels: color the top-left, top-right and far-left panels bright red, golden yellow and sky blue as shown, using the same color for each alternating panel.
- 2Color the umbrella pole in warm brown, and the knob on top of the umbrella in orange.
- 3Fill the towel stripes in sky blue, leaving the in-between stripes white so they stand out.
- 4Color the beach ball: use bright red, golden yellow, sky blue, grass green and orange on its panels, and leave the small center circle white.
- 5Color both flip-flops orange on the soles and tops, then add sky blue straps.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the umbrella panels and towel edges for a more lively look.
