Heart Built from Dozens of Tiny Hearts

One large heart shape is built entirely from dozens of smaller hearts packed closely together. The hearts come in many sizes, from tiny ones to a few big ones near the middle and edges, and they tilt in different directions. A notch at the top center gives the big shape its classic heart outline. Three or four loose hearts float outside the main shape, two at the upper left and two at the lower right, as if they drifted away. Every heart has a clean outline and an empty inside, so there is plenty of room for crayons or markers. Try coloring the hearts in a pattern, such as warm shades in the center and cool shades toward the outside, or sort them by size and give each size its own color. It also works well as a free printable for Valentine's Day cards or a quiet counting activity.
