Birds Building a Nest of Love on a Blossom Branch

Coloring guide
Two round little birds perch on a thick branch, each carrying a slender twig in its beak as they weave a nest in the shape of a heart. The twigs in the middle crisscross with a few small leaves, so they're fun to color in different browns. The bird on the left gazes down at the nest with big sparkly eyes, and the one on the right has a fanned tail and peeks over the same twisty heart. Flowering branches with open five-petal blossoms, buds and pointed leaves fill all four corners. It makes a sweet choice for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or a spring lesson about how birds build nests. Soft blue and yellow feathers, warm brown twigs and pink blossoms will make the heart stand out. Kids who like Love coloring pages usually enjoy Christmas (Adult) and Friendship too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the two birds: color their bodies, wings and tails sky blue, leaving the eye whites and the twigs they hold uncolored.
- 2Color the thick branches and the branch tip chocolate brown, and fill the small darker patch on the upper left branch with dark gray.
- 3Paint all the blossom petals blossom pink, and color the flower buds rose pink.
- 4Fill every leaf with leaf green, including the leaves around the nest and the branch.
- 5Color the bird beaks bright orange and the cheek patches pale yellow, and leave the nest and background white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker blue under the wings and deeper green on the lower side of the leaves for depth.
