Buzzing Bees and a Wild Kratts Honeycomb Boy

Kneeling in the grass, a smiling boy reaches up to touch a big honeycomb hanging from a tree branch. His striped bee-style suit has a hexagon honeycomb emblem on the chest, and wings sit on his back. Four cheerful cartoon bees with antennae and little smiles buzz around him, with dotted lines tracing where they've flown. A sun with rays shines in the top corner, and daisies, small flowers, leafy bushes and grass tufts cover the ground. Bold outlines and a blend of large and small spaces make it work for different ages, and the stripes and hexagon cells are good for careful coloring practice. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the honeycomb on the right: fill the cells with golden yellow and amber orange, alternating them for a warm pattern.
- 2Color the boy's suit: use bright yellow for the light bands on the arms, legs and shoes, and charcoal gray for the dark stripes, plus a soft gold collar.
- 3Paint the boy's face and hand peach, his hair chestnut brown, and the sun bright yellow.
- 4Fill the bushes and grass with grass green and light green, color the tree branch olive brown, and add forest green to the leaves.
- 5Color the bees' wings sky blue, then leave the flower petals, flower centers, leaf highlight and shoe highlights white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading in the honeycomb cells and along the suit stripes to make them pop.
