Chocolate Box of Love With a Bow Lid

Coloring guide
This heart-shaped box of chocolates is open, with its lid tilted up at an angle and topped with a big ribbon bow. Eight candies sit inside in scalloped paper cups. One has a small heart in the center, one has wavy stripes, and one is dotted with little circles. There's also a striped heart-shaped chocolate, a square one tied up like a present, a round one with horizontal stripes and a swirl-topped candy. Three small hearts float on the left and three more drift near the bottom right. Thick, clean outlines and all those different candy patterns make it a good choice for kids who like detail. Try milk, dark and white chocolate browns on the candies, then shiny red or pink for the lid and bow. Print it free for Valentine's Day or a card-making project. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the lid and box walls: fill the heart-shaped lid and the box sides with bright red, leaving the white highlight lines along the rim.
- 2Color the bow and the small hearts around the page with hot pink, keeping the bow center knot a bit lighter for shine.
- 3Fill the inside of the box tray with light pink, leaving the open spaces between the chocolates.
- 4Color the chocolates in caramel brown and chocolate brown, using mauve on a few of the middle pieces for variety.
- 5Finish with the dark swirl and shadow details in charcoal black, and leave the white wavy highlights on the top chocolate untouched.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the bottom of the box and the bow tails to give the chocolates more depth.
