Little Cat Curled Up Inside a Cardboard Box

Coloring guide
Here's a smiling tabby kitten tucked into an open cardboard box, big round eyes looking out and its head resting just above the front flaps. It has pointed ears, whiskers on both cheeks, a tiny nose and a happy curved mouth. Stripes decorate the forehead, tail and body, and the tail drapes over the front of the box. The box itself is a simple shape with four folded flaps, and nothing else is drawn around it, so there's lots of white space. Thick outlines and big areas make this free printable a good pick for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Go with orange and cream for the kitten, darker brown for the stripes, and kraft-paper tan for the box so it looks like a real shipping carton. It suits a quiet afternoon, a pet-themed lesson or a rainy-day craft table. Fans of Cats coloring pages often like Farm Animals and Tiger as well.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the cardboard box, including its front sides and all four flaps, with warm tan.
- 2Fill the cat's head, body, and the base of its tail with golden yellow, leaving the eye whites white.
- 3Use bright orange for the wide band on the lower part of the tail and the bottom section of the tail.
- 4Add burnt orange stripes on the forehead and the two stripes along the right side of the cat's body.
- 5Color the inside of both ears soft pink and the tip of the tail cream.
- 6Optional: add a few darker tan touches along the box edges and under the cat for a little depth.
