Friendly Cartoon Wolf in the Woods Between Two Trunks

In the middle of this forest scene stands a friendly cartoon wolf with its head turned a little, big round eyes, a small smile and perked-up pointed ears. Fluffy, jagged fur lines cover the chest and cheeks, and the bushy tail curls out to the left. Two thick tree trunks frame the page, a pointed evergreen rises in the background, and rounded leafy bushes run along the ground. Small tufts of grass and a few smooth rocks lie around the wolf's paws. The big fur sections leave lots of room for practicing shading and small details. Soft grays and cool blues look good on the wolf, with pale cream on the chest fluff, then warm browns for the trunks and green for the bushes. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the wolf's back, tail, and outer edge of the right ear: fill them with charcoal gray.
- 2Fill the chest, neck, face, lower legs, and paws with cream, leaving the eye whites white.
- 3Color the inside of both ears soft pink.
- 4Color the tree trunks brown on the left, and keep the tall trunk on the right white.
- 5Fill the pine trees and top branches with dark green, then add lime green to the grass and bushes and leafy green to the darker bush areas.
- 6Color the rocks light gray, leave the sky white, and finish with the small grass tufts in lime green. Optional: add light shading with a darker shade of the same color along the edges of the fur and bushes for depth.
