Happy Ladybug Relaxing on a Large Leaf

Coloring guide
This easy page puts one cheerful ladybug smack in the middle of a big, plain leaf. We see the bug from above, with a round head, two large shiny eyes, a small smile and a pair of curved antennae tipped with little balls. Down the center the shell splits in two, and each half carries three big circle spots. Six bent legs poke out to the sides, and the top two are lifted like a friendly wave. The leaf has a middle vein plus a few curved ones on each side, all in thick, clean lines that small hands can follow. Beginners and preschoolers will find lots of open space to work with. A red shell with black spots and a fresh light green leaf look great. Print it free for a quiet afternoon or a spring bug lesson. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big leaf: fill the whole leaf shape on both sides and at the top with leaf green, leaving the thin leaf veins white.
- 2Fill the ladybug's shell, both halves, with ladybug red.
- 3Color the head, all six legs and the round spots on the shell with charcoal gray, keeping the eyes and smile white.
- 4Fill the two antenna tips with ladybug red, and leave the antenna stalks white.
- 5Optional: Add a little light shading with a darker green along the edges of the leaf to make it look more lively.
