How to Draw a Face With Shoulder-Length Brown Hair

Coloring guide
A finished cartoon portrait of a person with shoulder-length brown hair sits in the top corner, and nine numbered steps show how to build it. Step one is a plain circle. Next the lower half narrows into a rounded chin, then the shape is smoothed into an egg-like head. Guide lines come after that: one down the middle and two across, with tiny marks for the nose and mouth. The later steps add eyebrows, eyes with pupils, lips, ears, and finally the hair with its center part and flowing strands. Each new step is drawn in blue so kids can see what changed. Print it for an art lesson and have students trace the blue lines first, then color the finished face with their own skin tones and hair colors. It also works well for practicing facial proportions.
