How to Draw a Cartoon Knight Starting With a Smile

Coloring guide
Six small panels show how to build a cartoon knight one stage at a time. It starts with a smiling round face above a simple trapezoid body, then adds a helmet and a skirt-like armor edge. Next come the long hair, an outstretched arm, a pointed shield, legs and oval boots. A tall pole becomes a spear with a pointed tip, and the shield gets a cross. The later panels add a flowing cape, a round halo behind the head and a helmet stripe. The last panel shows the finished knight in color, with a purple-blue outfit, a red cape, a red cross on the shield and a golden spear. Kids can follow along panel by panel on scrap paper, then color their own knight. Try copying the colors shown or picking a new cape and shield design for a different hero.
