Cartoon Violinist in a Long Coat, Step by Step

Coloring guide
Six small steps show a cartoon musician being built from simple shapes. The first step is an oval head with a smiling face over a trapezoid body. Next come the hair, straight legs and oval feet. Then the figure gets a long coat with a buttoned front, rolled curls at the side of the head, and one arm stretched out. In the fourth step a violin appears under the chin, and the fifth adds the bow and a ruffled collar. The last step shows the finished figure in color, with a red coat, yellow vest, gray hair and a brown violin. This free printable guide works well for beginners who are learning to break a person into basic shapes. Try drawing along one step at a time, then color your own version and pick a different coat color from the example.
