Kids on an Easter Egg Hunt in the Garden

Coloring guide
Crouched together in the grass, a smiling girl with a ponytail and a boy with short tousled hair are out hunting for eggs. The girl wears overalls over a t-shirt and carries a woven basket that already holds two decorated eggs. The boy, in a t-shirt and shorts, points toward the ground while his own basket sits beside him, filled with more eggs. In the bottom right corner, a striped egg peeks out from tall grass. Behind them you'll see a large tree with a leafy canopy, bushes and daisy-like flowers scattered across the meadow. Bold, clear outlines keep this free printable easy for kids to color. Soft pastel pinks, yellows and purples look nice on the eggs, bright green suits the grass, and sunny yellow is just right for the flower centers. Love this Easter coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green areas: fill the tree canopy, the bushes and the grass with leaf green, then use light green for the grass blades in front.
- 2Color the tree trunk and both kids' hair with chocolate brown, leaving small white shine marks on the hair.
- 3Fill the faces, arms, hands and legs with light peach, keeping the eye whites and the small highlight on the boy's finger white.
- 4Dress the kids: soft pink for the girl's shirt, navy blue for her overalls, golden yellow for the boy's shirt and navy blue for his shorts, then pale blue for his shoe.
- 5Paint the two baskets caramel brown and add the Easter eggs in hot pink, lavender, violet purple, amber yellow, tangerine orange, olive gold, peach tan and coral red.
- 6Finish the flowers with white petals and hot pink centers, then add the small light green grass blades. Optional: add a slightly darker shade along one side of each egg for depth.
