A big fluffy mother cat looks down with a gentle smile as four little kittens snuggle in around her. Two kittens on the sides gaze up at her with wide, sparkly eyes, and one of them rests a tiny paw on her fur. The other two are curled up fast asleep at the bottom, eyes closed and tails tucked around them. Rounded pillows or cushions sit behind the family, and soft wavy blankets run along the bottom of the page. Fluffy fur, long whiskers and big eyes give kids lots of details to color. Soft orange and cream suit the mother, and each kitten can get its own fur color, like gray, white or ginger, so every baby is easy to tell apart. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big pillows and blankets: color the background puffs and the folds under the cats in sky blue, leaving the bottom white blanket area empty.
- 2Fill mama cat's head, body, back and cheeks with golden orange, then add a touch of golden yellow in the inner part of the right ear.
- 3Color the top left kitten's head and body and the bottom right kitten's body and tail in medium gray, and the bottom left kitten in warm beige.
- 4Add coral pink to all the ear insides and tips, plus mama cat's nose, and use cream for the front paws of the top two kittens.
- 5Optional: add slightly darker shading under the bellies and along the blanket folds, and keep the eye whites, muzzles and bottom right paws white.
