Mother Wolf Curled Around Her Three Sleeping Pups
Coloring guide
In this cozy scene, a smiling mother wolf wraps her body and big fluffy tail around three sleeping pups. Her head tips down toward the little ones, and her eyes look bright and gentle. The pups are snuggled in a pile with eyes closed, tiny paws tucked under their chins and pointed ears peeking up. One large front paw rests in the foreground. Small tufts of grass and several fallen leaves are scattered on the ground, which adds simple extra details to color. The thick fur has plenty of fluffy edges, so it suits kids who like a bit of detail. Creamy whites and soft grays work for the mother and pups, and autumn oranges, golds and browns on the leaves add a warm, sleepy feel. Grab this free printable PDF for a quick coloring break. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the mother wolf's big head, body, shoulders and fluffy tail with medium gray, leaving the eye shines and nose highlight white.
- 2Color the three sleeping pups' bodies and heads with taupe gray, then add coral pink inside their ears.
- 3Add cream white to the pups' bellies, paws, the mother's chest, muzzle and chin, and her front paw.
- 4Paint the leaves: golden yellow for the bottom and middle leaves, burnt orange for the left leaf, and bright orange for the top right leaf.
- 5Use cream beige on the middle pup's chest and the small pup's head details, and soft tan for the pups' inner ear shading.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker gray strokes along the mother wolf's back and tail to make the fur look fluffier.
