Peacock Under an Umbrella on a Rainy Day

Coloring guide
This cheerful cartoon peacock stands in a shallow puddle, holding a big open umbrella in one wing while raindrops fall around it. It has large sparkling eyes, a little open-beaked smile and a tuft of three round-tipped feathers on its head. The long tail trails down behind, filled with eye-shaped feather patterns that are great for detail work. A small tuft of grass sits on each side of the page, and a few ripples circle the peacock's feet. The umbrella is split into clear panels with little tips along the edge, so kids can switch colors from section to section. A bright yellow or red umbrella would stand out against the rain, with teal and royal blue on the body and tail and golden green in the feather eyes. A free printable for preschoolers and early elementary kids who love rainy-day themes. More like this: explore the Peacock, Puppies and Cats coloring page collections.

- 1Fill the peacock's head, neck, body, hand and upper legs with bright blue, leaving the eye whites and the small white highlights on the legs untouched.
- 2Color the wing and the lower chest with light sky blue, then add the umbrella panels: tomato red on the left, orange on the lower left, golden yellow on the top, lemon yellow in the middle and lower right, emerald green on the right, and lavender purple on the far right edge.
- 3Color the beak and feet with marigold and orange, the umbrella handle with chocolate brown, and the crest tips with lemon yellow.
- 4Color the long tail with leaf green and emerald green for most feathers, adding teal, azure blue, deep blue, and royal blue inside the eye spots, and fill the tail base and back with forest green and lime green.
- 5Color the puddle, the raindrops, and the umbrella curl with light sky blue or chocolate brown as shown, keeping the grass white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the tail feathers and under the wing with a deeper shade of the same color to make the peacock look more lively.
