Cat Pouncing on a Ball of Yarn

Coloring guide
A wide-eyed tabby kitten crouches in mid-pounce, one paw pressed down on a big ball of yarn and a happy grin on its face. Its tail curls high behind it. Stripes on the tail, back, legs and forehead add plenty of detail to color. Little motion lines sit beside the yarn ball, and a loose strand trails across the floor toward a curved rug in the corner. Behind the kitten there's a small side table on the left, a potted leafy plant on the right, and simple floorboard lines. Brown stripes on an orange and cream kitten look great, and a bright red or purple yarn ball will really pop. Download it as a free PDF for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cat body, head, and legs in golden orange, leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Fill the floor and cabinet areas in warm tan, then color the blue rug in pale blue with a pale yellow border.
- 3Color the yarn ball in sky blue, leaving small white gaps between the strands if you like.
- 4Add burnt orange stripes on the tail, legs, and head, and color the flower pot lavender purple and the plant leaves leaf green.
- 5Color the inner ears light pink, the nose and open mouth rose pink, and the cheeks pale yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of burnt orange on the floor edges or yarn to add depth.
