Wolf Pup Eyeing a Butterfly in the Flowers

Down low in a patch of flowers, a fluffy wolf pup stretches its front paws out and gazes up at a butterfly fluttering right in front of its nose. The pup has big round eyes, a small smile, pointed ears and a curled, bushy tail raised high behind it. Large daisies with wide petals, smaller five-petal blooms and tufts of tall grass surround it, all in thick, clear outlines. The butterfly has patterned wings and curled antennae, so it is a nice place for extra detail. Bold lines and roomy shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the fur gives older children a chance to try shading. Gray and white fit the pup, orange and purple fit the butterfly wings, and yellow, pink and blue fit the flowers. This free printable is good for classroom time or a rainy day.
