Sleepy Cat Snoozing in a Woven Basket

Coloring guide
A round, fluffy kitten has curled up for a nap in a woven basket. Its eyes are closed in happy little arcs, and there's a tiny smile on its face. The front paws are tucked under its chin, its big bushy tail wraps around the front, and a soft blanket spills over the rim. Long whiskers, pointed ears and tufty fur make this a nice page for practicing short, feathery pencil strokes. The basket has chunky horizontal bands with small vertical weave marks, which means plenty of sections to fill. Ginger or warm orange shades suit the cat, and a golden brown basket with a pastel blanket gives some contrast. Print or download it free for a classroom project or a weekend craft. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the cat's head, fluffy body and curled tail with tangerine orange, leaving the two paws white.
- 2Color the inside of both ears soft pink.
- 3Color the blanket under and around the cat sky blue, including the folded edge at the top of the basket.
- 4Fill the basket's woven strips with warm tan, and color the top row of strips pale gold for a little contrast.
- 5Color the short vertical wicker ties walnut brown so they stand out between the strips.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of walnut brown along the basket's lower edge and under the cat's tail for depth. Leave the background white.
