Garden Fence Stroll for a Smiling Cat

Coloring guide
Up on the top rail of a wooden fence, a happy cat is out for a walk with its tail curved high and its whiskers spread wide. A big round sun or moon sits low on the horizon behind it, puffy clouds drift above, and rounded bushes line the background. Along the bottom, coneflower-style daisies and leafy plants grow in front of the fence boards, which have little knot-hole details. The fluffy chest fur and big sparkly eyes are good spots for shading practice. Soft orange or gray works for the cat, purple or pink for the petals, and a warm yellow glow can go behind the round sun. Print this sheet at home for classroom time or a rainy day. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sun in golden yellow, then fill the cat's body, tail and legs with warm orange.
- 2Color the top left cloud and the small cloud on the right in sky blue, and leave the top right cloud white.
- 3Fill the hills, bushes and grass in grass green and medium green, using darker green on the lowest leaves for depth.
- 4Color the fence boards and rail in wood brown, then add olive touches to the small bushes near the bottom.
- 5Give the cat's inner ears a coral pink tint, and leave the eye whites, muzzle and whiskers white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker orange along the cat's belly and tail to make it look fluffier.
