Smiling Cat With a Giant Yarn Ball

Coloring guide
This cheerful fluffy kitten sits upright with one paw on top of a large ball of yarn, grinning widely with big shiny eyes. It has pointed ears, long whiskers on both cheeks, tufts of fur around the face and chest, and a curled tail rising behind it. Loose yarn loops along the ground around the bottom of the page. With no background scene, the kitten and yarn stand out nicely. Thick outlines and open spaces make this free printable easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A soft orange or gray kitten looks great with a bright purple or turquoise striped yarn ball, and the stripes help you follow the loose strand. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the yarn ball and the long yarn strands sky blue, working stripe by stripe and leaving small gaps between them.
- 2Fill the cat's head with golden orange, then color the body and the tail light orange.
- 3Add a touch of pale blue along the lower right edge of the yarn ball to suggest shade.
- 4Color the inside of both ears, the little nose and the open tongue coral pink.
- 5Use cream white for the whiskers and the soft cheek patches, and leave the eye whites and the background white.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of a slightly darker orange along the body and tail to make the fur look fluffy.
