Elf Wrapping Presents in the Workshop, Christmas for Kids Printable

Coloring guide
A cheerful elf sits at a wooden workbench and ties a big ribbon bow on top of a wrapped present. He wears a pointy hat with a pom-pom, a collared tunic with round buttons, striped stockings and curly-toed shoes with little bells. Shelves behind him hold a toy train, a drum with drumsticks, a teddy bear in a bow tie, a stacking ring toy and a small pickup truck. A spool of ribbon, a pair of scissors and a tape dispenser sit on the table. The gift and the elf's outfit have large shapes that small hands can handle, and the toys add fun detail for older kids. You could go with red and white stripes on the gift and a green bow, or give the hat and tunic bright holiday colors. This free printable PDF is good for classroom time or a rainy day. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- wood tan
- leaf green
- bright red
- skin peach
- sky blue
- warm brown
- golden yellow
- ocean blue
- chestnut brown
- aqua teal
- brick red
- lime green
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: color the wood shelves, table top and table legs in wood tan, and the warm brown shelf posts and teddy bear in warm brown.
- 2Fill the gift box with sky blue, leaving the thin edges white for a gentle highlight, then add bright red ribbon across the box and the bow on top.
- 3Color the elf's hat leaf green with the tip in bright red and the bauble in golden yellow. Fill the face and hands with skin peach and the hair with chestnut brown.
- 4Color the elf's outfit leaf green and the collar bright red, then add the red cuffs. Leave the small white shine spots on the hat and shoe bells uncolored.
- 5Add the toys: the train in aqua teal, ocean blue and bright red, the stacking rings in orange, golden yellow, lime green and aqua teal, the red toy car and drum, and the coral pink tape dispenser. Color the shoes leaf green and the sock stripes white.
- 6Optional: add a little light gray shading on the shoes and the table edge to make the scene feel more three-dimensional.
