Spotted Dinosaur Reaching for Tree Leaves

With a happy smile, a friendly long-necked dinosaur stretches up high to munch on the leaves of a tall tree. It stands on four sturdy legs, and round spots cover its body from neck to tail. In the background there's a small volcano-shaped mountain, two puffy clouds and rounded bushes on rolling hills, with little tufts of grass across the ground. Younger children will like the thick, clear outlines, and the big leaves on the branches are easy to color. Try soft greens on the dinosaur with yellow or orange spots, fresh light green for the leaves and brown for the tall trunk. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the two clouds in the sky with sky blue, leaving the open sky white.
- 2Fill the mountain in the background with lavender purple.
- 3Color the dinosaur's body, neck, and legs, plus the tree canopy and both side bushes, with leaf green.
- 4Use forest green for the darker bushes, the lower tree leaves, and the leaves around the dinosaur's mouth, then add lime green to the light stripe on the back leg and the top leaf.
- 5Color the branch and the edge of the tree trunk warm brown, and fill the spots along the back and neck with golden yellow.
- 6Finish with pale cream on the claws and toes. Optional: add a little darker green along the belly and under the neck for depth.
