Tiny Elf Sitting Atop a Polka-Dot Mushroom
Coloring guide
High on a large spotted mushroom sits a smiling little elf with big round eyes and pointy ears, holding a long-stemmed, daisy-like flower in one hand. His outfit is a floppy pom-pom hat, a collared tunic with a zigzag neckline, a belt with a square buckle and cuffed boots. Two smaller spotted mushrooms and tufts of grass sit at the bottom of the page. The big dots on the cap are simple for younger kids to fill in, and the hat, belt and flower petals offer smaller spaces for older kids. A red cap with white dots and a green hat and tunic for the elf would look great. It's a free printable that makes a cheerful quiet-time activity at home or in the classroom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

- 2Fill the tall mushroom stems and the small mushroom stem with pale cream, then color the two small mushroom caps tomato red with white spots.
- 3Color the elf's tunic, sleeves, legs and hat band forest green, and the collar tomato red.
- 4Use peach skin for the face, ears and hands, and chocolate brown for the hair, belt, and boots.
- 5Color the hat pompom golden yellow and the flower leaves and stems grass green, keeping the flower petals white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of forest green or chocolate brown along the shadowed sides of the cap and legs for extra depth.
