Watermelon with Ragged Stripes and Leaves

Watermelon with Ragged Stripes and Leaves coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A single round watermelon fills the page, drawn in thick black outlines with no background. Long, jagged stripes run from the top down to the bottom of the rind, and each one has a rough, ragged edge. A few smooth curved lines sit between the stripes, including one narrow, pointed stripe on the right side. At the top left, a cluster of large leaves with wavy center lines and pointed tips drapes over the fruit. The big open shapes are easy for small hands to fill in, and the stripes give older kids something more detailed to work on. Try two shades of green for the rind, with light green for the wide bands and dark green for the narrow ones, then pick a third green for the leaves. This free printable also works well for a summer fruit lesson on how watermelons look from the outside before you cut them open.
