Waving Squirrel at the Door of an Oak Treehouse

Peeking out of a round doorway in a cozy treehouse, a cheerful squirrel waves hello with the wooden door swung open beside it. The house sits on a platform built into a big oak trunk, with a rope ladder up to the railing. Look closely and you'll find a stone chimney with a curl of smoke, an arched window with a flower box, acorns hanging from the branches, and a small bird on a limb at the left. Flowers, scattered acorns and a couple of mushrooms sit at the base of the tree. Farther back, a wooden fence, evergreen trees and a pond stretch into the distance. Reddish-brown suits the squirrel, soft grays the chimney, and bright pinks and yellows the window flowers. Plenty of leaves and bark for older kids, and the big squirrel is easy for little hands.
