A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the leafy tree canopy and the leaves, filling them in with leaf green and leaving small white gaps for light.
- 2Color the tree trunk and branches warm brown, then fill the ladder and basket with golden wood.
- 3Fill each apple on the tree and in the basket with bright red, leaving a small white shine on the top of each one.
- 4Color the basket weave with golden wood and keep the rim of the basket white.
- 5Add the light gray shadow near the top of the ladder and leave the open spaces between the ladder rungs white.
- 6Optional: Add a darker shade of leaf green or bright red along one side of the apples and leaves for a bit of depth.
