Pine Cones Hanging on a Tall Evergreen Tree

Coloring guide
Drooping, scalloped branches give this tall evergreen its shape, and three plump pine cones hang from the boughs. One dangles near the top, one sits on the right and one hangs low on the left. The thick trunk has simple bark lines and stands on a small patch of ground with grass tufts on each side. Outlines are bold and clean, with big open areas on the branches that suit young children learning crayon control. The cross-hatched pine cones add some small detail for older kids. Try a deep green and a medium green on alternating layers so each tier stands out, then warm browns for the cones and trunk. Print it free and add it to your growing stack. Kids who like Tree coloring pages usually enjoy Star and Forest too.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- forest green
- warm brown
- lime green
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color all five tree tiers from the top tip down to the bottom tier in forest green, staying inside the thick black lines.
- 2Fill the grass tufts at the base of the tree with lime green, including the small tufts in front of the trunk.
- 3Color the tree trunk warm brown, leaving the thin bark lines as they are.
- 4Fill the brown centers of the three pine cones in warm brown, leaving the white scale edges white so they stand out against the green.
- 5Optional: Add a few darker green strokes along the lower edges of the tree tiers to suggest shadow, and a little extra brown on the trunk's right side for depth.
