Watermelon with Thick Stem Curling into a Tendril

Coloring guide
A single round watermelon fills the page, drawn with bold black outlines and wavy, uneven stripes running from the stem down to the bottom. A short, thick stem sits at the top and curls into a long, thin tendril that bends to the right. The words "I love watermelon!" are written in thin letters above the fruit. The stripes create plenty of separate sections, so kids can alternate light and dark greens or try yellow-green and deep green for a realistic rind. Because the stripes have jagged edges, this is a nice page for practicing careful crayon control. Teachers could use it during a summer fruit lesson, then ask students to write their own sentence about their favorite fruit. Print it on sturdy paper if you plan to use markers or watercolors.
