Baby Fox Sniffing a Daisy With a Butterfly Above

Coloring guide
Leaning forward with big curious eyes and a little smile, a playful young fox sniffs a large daisy in the middle of a flower patch. Its fluffy tail curls up behind it, and the zigzag pattern at the tip is fun to color. A smiling butterfly flutters overhead along a dotted flight path. More daisies, small five-petal blossoms, leafy stems and tufts of grass fill the bottom of the page. Shapes are large and clearly outlined, so this free printable is a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Try a bright orange fox with a white tail tip, then purple and pink butterfly wings that stand out against soft yellow and white flowers. It also works well as a spring or nature-themed classroom activity. Looking for more? Our Cats and Birds coloring pages pair nicely with this Fox page.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the fox: fill the head, body, tail and neck with fox orange, and paint the front and back legs in light orange and burnt orange for a little depth.
- 2Color the tail tip, the muzzle and the chest fur cream, and fill the inner ears soft pink, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 3Paint the big daisy's petals lilac purple, its center golden yellow, and the leaves leaf green, then add the matching lilac and green to the smaller daisies.
- 4Fill the pink flowers in soft pink with golden yellow centers, the blue flowers in sky blue, and the little red flower in bright red with a golden yellow center.
- 5Color the butterfly: top wing golden yellow, side wings sky blue and soft pink, lower wings lavender, and its body golden yellow. Leave the background and small white flowers white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes on the fox's tail and the shadowed side of the body to make it look rounder.
