Peek-a-Boo Fox in a Tree Hollow

Coloring guide
Tucked into a cozy hollow at the bottom of a big tree, a little fox with round eyes and a cheerful smile peeks out, both front paws resting on the edge of the opening. Thick roots curve around the hole, and the wide bark is full of lines to color. Grass tufts and a few bushes sit behind the trunk, while daisy-style flowers with round centers and small pebbles are scattered in the dirt out front. The big open shapes in the trunk and roots are easy for young kids, and the fluffy cheek fur and ears give older children a bit more detail. Orange for the fox, white for the cheeks and brown for the trunk is a simple combo. It's free to print and good for a quiet afternoon or a nature lesson. Kids who like Fox coloring pages usually enjoy Wolves and Lion too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the fox's head and body by filling the whole face and ears area with tangerine orange, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the inside of the tree hollow behind the fox with dark chocolate brown, and color the rim of the opening with walnut brown.
- 3Color the tree roots and trunk edges on both sides with caramel brown for a warm wood look.
- 4Add the bushes, grass tufts and the grass at the bottom in grass green and lime green, and fill the inner ears with coral pink.
- 5Color the two paws with cream, and fill the flower center with golden yellow, keeping the flower petals white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker brown to the edges of the hollow and a few light gray strokes on the pebble to add depth.
