Bear Family Picnic Beneath a Big Leafy Tree

Four smiling bears share a checkered picnic blanket under a large leafy tree, and the three closest to you each hold a sandwich. Mother bear has a little flower on her head, and father bear sits next to her with a happy open-mouthed grin. Two small cubs sit up front, one on each side, nibbling their own sandwiches. The middle of the blanket holds a woven picnic basket with a clasp, a pitcher of juice and a plate of sandwich triangles. Behind them are grass tufts, small flowers and rounded bushes, with leaves scattered across the branches above. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big bear family: color the bears' fur, including the papa bear's head and body, the mama bear, and both cubs, in caramel brown.
- 2Color the tree trunk in dark tan, then fill the leafy tree top, branches, and bushes in leaf green and grass green, leaving the sky and background white.
- 3Add the pink details: mama bear's shirt and the flower in her hair in hot pink and light pink, and the blanket checks in salmon pink, light coral, and tomato red.
- 4Fill the papa bear's pants in royal blue and his shorts area in sky blue, and paint the cub's shirt in slate gray.
- 5Color the picnic juice in golden yellow with a pale yellow top, the pitcher rim in gold, and the sandwiches in cream, leaving the plate white.
- 6Finish with details: the basket in caramel brown with a light gray clasp, and the cub paws in dark tan and peach orange. Optional: Add a little darker brown shading under the bears for depth.
