Happy Monkey Swinging from a Tree Branch with a Banana

One hand on a thick branch, a happy little monkey dangles in the air and holds a half-peeled banana in the other. It has a big open-mouthed grin, wide shiny eyes and a curly tail swirling out to the right. With one foot tucked up and the other hanging down, it really looks like it's swinging. Large leaves fill the top corners, thin vines with small pointed leaves hang down both sides, and leafy bushes run along the bottom edge. Bold lines and big shapes make this free printable a good choice for beginners and younger kids. Warm brown fur with a lighter tan face, belly and ears looks good, and a bright yellow banana will stand out against the green leaves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big brown areas: fill the monkey's head, arm, body, legs and tail, plus the tree branch and trunk, with chocolate brown.
- 2Fill the monkey's face, belly, raised arm, hands and fingers with peach, leaving the eye whites and the background white.
- 3Color the banana with golden yellow, then add the open mouth in coral red, leaving the small teeth area white.
- 4Color the leaves in the tree and bushes: use medium green for the upper and vine leaves, light green for the lower bushes and a few vine leaves, and dark green for the big leaves at the bottom corners.
- 5Optional: Add pink to the inside of the ears and a little darker brown on the shaded side of the body, then leave the background sky and small leaf highlights white.
