Sitting Baby Fox with a Fluffy Curled Tail

Coloring guide
This little fox sits tall and looks right at you, with big round sparkly eyes and a happy closed-mouth smile. The two pointed ears have inner outlines, and spiky tufts of fur run along the cheeks and chest. Its bushy tail wraps around the front of the body, and the zigzag edge at the tip is a handy place to switch colors. Two small front paws rest on the ground. Nothing else is on the page, so kids can put all their attention on the fox. Bold outlines and big open spaces make it a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Orange for the body and ears, white for the chest and tail tip, and dark brown for the paws would look great. It's a free printable for a quiet afternoon or a classroom animal unit. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big fluffy tail, the body sides, the haunch and the front legs with warm orange, leaving the tail tip for later.
- 2Color the inside of both ears soft pink, keeping the outlines crisp.
- 3Use cream for the chest fur, the tail tip, and both paws, so the fox looks soft and fluffy.
- 4Leave the face, the eye whites, and the eye shines white, and fill the pupils and nose in dark ink with a small white shine on each.
- 5Optional: Add a few light strokes of darker orange along the tail and under the body to give a little depth.
