Here's a cheerful squirrel sitting upright on a thick branch, grinning with its mouth open and hugging a big acorn in both front paws. The big fluffy tail curls up behind its back, and the pointed ears have little tufts at the tips. Two oak leaves are drawn along the branch, one on the right and one dangling at the bottom left. The acorn cap has a crosshatch pattern that's fun to fill in. Clean, bold lines help younger kids stay inside, while older ones can add fur texture to the tail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the squirrel's fluffy tail, head, body, legs and paws in burnt orange, leaving the eye whites and the lighter areas for later.
- 2Fill the belly and the chest fur with pale peach, starting with the big rounded belly shape.
- 3Color the inner parts of both ears, the nose and the open mouth in coral pink.
- 4Fill the acorn body with caramel tan, then color the acorn cap and stem in chestnut brown and add small crosshatch lines on the cap.
- 5Color the oak leaf on the right in golden yellow and the leaf at the bottom left in olive green, leaving the branch and background white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the tail and under the belly with the same colors to give the squirrel more depth.
