Snowy Evergreen Scene With a Stretching Fox

Coloring guide
Here a cheerful young fox stretches forward in a play bow, front paws low and tail curled high behind it. It has a big open smile and sparkling eyes. Fluffy fur frames the chest and cheeks, and the bushy tail has jagged tufts that are fun to color. Snowflakes and small round snowballs drift through the air, with an evergreen tree standing on each side. Soft mounds of snow roll across the ground under its paws. This free printable suits preschoolers and early elementary kids, with big open areas for chunky crayons and finer details for colored pencils. An orange fox with a white chest and tail tip will pop against pale blue snowflakes and deep green trees. It's a nice winter-day activity at home or in the classroom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the snowy ground and background: color the snow mounds and the bank behind the fox with pale ice blue, and the sky patches with sky blue. Leave the snowflakes and snow tops on the trees white.
- 2Color the whole fox body, face, tail and cheeks with bright orange, leaving the tail tip white at the top.
- 3Fill the chest fur and the paws with tan and chocolate brown, so the fox looks fluffy at the front and dark at the feet.
- 4Color the two evergreen trees with forest green, and add chocolate brown trunks at the bottom. Keep the snow on the branches white.
- 5Add light peach to the inner parts of the ears and coral pink to the open mouth and tongue. Keep the eye whites and the small highlights white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker orange along the edges of the tail and body to give the fox some shading.
